Goals
In the workshop students are invited to acquire methods and tools to experiment an approach to the project in which the construction and the management of the work of architecture reenter in the first phases of the building process and they qualify the realization of it. The aim of the workshop is to give criteria for choosing materials, technical elements, technologies (traditional and innovative, material and immaterial) to design the architecture in a logic of environmental sustainability and correlation among the figurative, functional and constructive aspects.
Minimum contents of the Course
The workshop converts the contents covered in the course of Construction of Building into project experience.
Starting from the systemic logic and using the performance approach the students will be guided in the analysis and design of a building or parts of it, together with component parts.
The contents, proper to the Architecture Technology field, can be grouped into two categories: content related to general themes and specific topics.
Content related to general themes:
- the relationship between design and construction, design requirements and products and materials assembly logics;
- the relationship between architectural technology and building process;
- standards in architectural design;
- quality in architecture;
- building in nZEB time.
Content related to specific issues:
- the building system, its parts and significant nodes;
- the building: material and energy system;
- construction systems.
Didactic Organization
The workshop will be divided into ex-cathedra lectures, ex tempore tests (reports and graphics), and communications aimed at the annual project drafting.
Final exam achievement
The exam, held individually, consist in the project presentation and the discussion on the topics of theoretical lectures.
